What most influenced your decision to do GRBY?
Meeting a former student who did the school two years before me. I was so surprised and impressed with how much faith she had in God. I was also amazed at how she just gave God the glory in every part of her life, how she so unashamedly talked about God in all of her conversations with me. I realized I wanted that, so when I was told about the school, I jumped at the chance. – GRBY Alumni 2018
I wanted to learn how to read scripture, live a life of mission and grow closer to the heart of God. – GRBY Alumni 2018
I joined the Bridge Year because of the leaders I wanted to learn from. – GRBY Alumni 2017
What part of GRBY was most influential in your life?
I learned so much [about community] and a lot of that learning went deeper because I was living in a community that loved me and challenged me to grow. During Bridge Year and now after, it has been one of the most important things in my life. We aren’t meant to do this life alone. It’s been such a blessing to have people who love me enough to challenge me, stick by my side, laugh with me, cry with me, speak truth to me, point me to Christ, and really just live life with me. – GRBY Alumni 2016
The Global Phase of Bridge Year most impacted my life and changed the way I view God, mission, and my call as a follower of Christ. Seeing the desperate need that the nations have for Jesus set in me a desire to see all men and women come to know the love of the God of the universe. – GRBY Alumni 2017
Why would you recommend that someone do GRBY?
Bridge Year radically transforms your view of God, yourself, and the world! You encounter Jesus in ways you never expected. You’re confronted with your own sinfulness and challenged to grow while living in a loving community that consistently pushes you towards Christ. – GRBY Alumni 2016
It’s a great place to grow in your relationship with God, and learn what it is to walk as a Christ-centered individual. – GRBY Alumni 2016
I would urge anyone who is searching to do Mission School – whether searching for answers, experience, calling, or even community. I think BSMS is often a place where God reveals himself to be the ultimate end to every search and every question, and his guidance leads many students to a place of peace and assurance. – GRBY Alumni 2017
